About For The Luv Of It

How it Began

For the Luv of It is Vancouver’s hottest new production showcasing Vancouver’s up and coming vocal and dance talent. It all started with “Twist of Fate”, a successful fundraiser for LA dancer and choreographer Steve Stanton. Producer, Carla Marie Catherwood pulled together some of the best in Vancouver’s dance and vocal scene and rocked the house at Richards on Richards to a sold out crowd of 600, raising over $7500 for the injured dancer. “I saw the audience response we had for all the performers, and just knew I had to keep it going.” Said Ms. Catherwood. “There is so much talent in Vancouver– dancers, singers, DJ’s. It’s a small community where we know of people, but we seldom get the chance to really see what they do. The idea for “For the Luv of It” just grew from there”. The first show, February 25th at Richards on Richards entertained a crowd of over 500 including casting agents, directors, producers, local record companies, talent agencies and management companies. “We are very grateful to all the people who helped put this first show together. The performers, the entertainment community and, of course, our sponsors. This show could not have happened without everyone believing in the success of the show.
